KMail Version 4.11.2 in Kontact on Kubuntu 13.10 amd64

I've been having the same issue.  Regardless of how I read, mark, update, move,
or modify the message, it always appears as unread as soon as the imap folder
is rescanned.

If I log into my imap account with a different mail client, and mark the
message there, the next time the message is scanned by kmail it retains the
correct read status.

I have debugging symbols installed here, and I have some programming experience
but am new to kde debugging.  If someone can give me an idea of where to begin
or how to start attacking this, I can probably fix it.
