I suffer from the same nasty bug, so at least I can confirm it.
KDE: 4.10.5 "release 1", KMail: 4.10.5, Qt: 4.8.4, openSUSE 12.3 64bit,
3.7.10-1.16-desktop, SMP PREEMPT x86_64 GNU/Linux
