- What I was doing when the application crashed:

Enter local mail folder, select all emails with ^A, mark all as read with ^R.
The whole box was unread emails, the first email was selected when selecting
box.
There are just over 2000 emails in this box.

- Custom settings of the application:

The local mailbox in question is a kmail mail directory, the box an mbox file.
New emails are marked as "read" after 5 seconds.

kmail is quiet slow at processing the status flags of 200 emails, I have
observed this kind of problem repeatedly. Changing mail boxes quickly doesn't
help, although this time I avoided this AFAICR until all kmail operations were
completed.

At a wild guess, the 5s timeout for the selected email hit before the update
for the lot was completed, and status updating has a concurrency problem.

The crash can be reproduced sometimes.
