Tried now in Ubuntu 12.04 (precise) and still get exactly the same outcome as
in my first report (the one that started this bug).

Can it be due to some information or character stored in the contacts? Is there
any easy/fast way to find why the crash happens? If it happens when
synchronizing a specific contact?
