It seems that telepathy is going to release 0.5 really soon. Probably in a year
will replace kopete in most of the distributions. Telepathy-kde AFAIK uses
akonadi to store contacts, so doing development on kopete side will be probably
a waste of time. That said, if anyone still prefers using kopete, and he is
willing to do that development, go ahead :)
