Summary: KMail 1.13.6 IMAP with MS Exchange over STARTTLS does
not fetch new mails any more.
Product: kmail
Version: 1.13.6
Platform: Gentoo Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: IMAP
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs at kde.org
ReportedBy: dyle at dyle.org
Version: 1.13.6 (using KDE 4.6.0)
OS: Linux
KMail was working since some KDE 3.x back to some KDE 4.5.x version without any
troubles. After the last updates it stopped working with the MS Exchange on
IMAP via STARTTLS.
KMail remained silent for a number of days after the recent updates. This was
good at first, but then I got pretty anxious ... and throughout the Outlook
Webfrontend I figured out I missed nearly 50 mails.
Testing the connection using openssl s_client -crlf -starttls imap -connect
SERVER:PORT worked properly. I could login and query my inbox.
Kmail just remained silent. It does not fetch any emails any longer and I don't
know why. The "Checking account ..." in the flashes and after I accepted the
certificate "Forever" (each time yet) it goes to "timed out" with 100%.
A newly setup Thunderbird with the same config data works well out of the box.
Coincident: suddenly kmail asks my confirmation about the SSL certifcate each
time. It does not care if I accepted it "forever".
Please help! Thank you.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
Click on "Check Mail"
KMail should accept the certicate, when I approved it (once and for good). And
then it should query the mails on the IMAP MS Exchange via STARTTLS.
Actual Results:
KMail says "timed out".
Expected Results:
KMail should fetch all mails stored at the IMAP server.
KMail was working properly for at least 2 years in this configuration. However
new release does not work here. :(
