Summary: kmail sends MDN without asking although policy set to
                    "ask"
           Product: kmail
           Version: 1.9.10
          Platform: openSUSE RPMs
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: MDN
        AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs at kde.org
        ReportedBy: alister at abceng.co.uk

Version: 1.9.10 (using KDE 1.2)
OS: Linux

Noticed that Kmail sends an MDN (message disposition notification) to
originator automatically when filtering a message that it then (correctly)
forwards to another user.

The original email does NOT contain a request for an MDN. Kmail does not ask if
it shoudl send the MDN.

My MDN policy setting is "ASK" under the <settings><configure-kmail> menu,
security <reading> sub-tab and also quote-original-message="nothing" and 'do
NOT send MDNs in repsonse to encrypted messages' is checked.(not that any of my
email is encrypted)

Problem noticed mostly with email from mailing lists where the MDN then bounces
back from a non-existent return address.
Used to also occur with some spam from a previous ISP's email feed with local
postfix, now I pick up from remote IMAP with kmail ONLY so I don't have any
local logs unless kmail has some somewhere.

I have noticed the problem for a long time, just never got around to reporting
it. It has certainly been present since suse10.x versions and occurs with both
POP and IMAP accounts

setup:
KMAIL 1.9.10
Kontact 1.2.9
KDE 3.5.10 release 21.13.1
opensuse 11.1 (x86_64)
Linux 2.6.27.56-0.1-default x86_64

filter setup:
match all of following
    from contains sendername
    subject contains keyword
redirect to user at mydomain.co.uk

Reproducible: Didn't try
