If I'm right, kmail uses mimelib from kdepim package. This is where my fix
goes. There exists also a kmime package that is without a fix, but that one is
not used by kmail anyway.

Maybe it is not needed to get the original message, it is quite clear which
headers were added by kmail. Just attach your message (save it to mbox format
from kmail first) and I will have a look at it.
