That looks very interesting. I suppose they make their money by holding
on to ours until the goal is reached or expired. I did read the terms
of use and privacy policy and a quick Internet search turned up no
complaints.

I'm not sure the benefits in our case are worth the limitations. The
contributions can only be made via PayPal or credit/debit cards and, in
the latter case, only from the United States. It does not remove the
trust issue in that the funds eventually wind up in my PayPal account
anyway. However, it does require that we send the funds in up front.
They hold on to them until we reach the goal amount or the date expires.
If the date expires without meeting the amount, the funds are returned
to the contributors. Given that it may take quite a while to reach the
amount, they could be sitting on our contributions for months.

I was not planning to take any money up front. I was anticipating
logging pledges and, when we had the pledge amount, then collecting
funds via any source including checks and bank transfers. As I think
about it, I do not have credit card facilities. I suppose that could be
set up through PayPal.

Thoughts? Comments? Insults? Thanks - John
