I have the same problem with OpenSUSE 11.1, KDE4.2.2 (Factory). As well as
drag-and-drop being unavailable, there appears to be no other method of copying
from the massage-list pane to the local folders. In KDE 3.5, it seems there was
only drag-and-drop available - no menu function.

As automatic copying on send is also unavailable - I'm about to submit a
separate report on this - the local folders are useless as there is no way to
put a message in them.
