Summary: signature should be displayed monospaced and without
quotation highlighting (better ASCII art support)
           Product: kmail
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Gentoo Packages
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs kde org
        ReportedBy: hans_meine gmx net

Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.7)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages

When displaying messages (i.e. not in the composer), KMail allows to choose between monospaced and variable-width fonts. Unfortunately, often the latter is more readable, while the former is better for ASCII art (AA). Since AA is common in .signatures, it would be cool if there was an option to have signatures (separated by "--") be always displayed with monospaced fonts.

At the same time, it does not make much sense to have quotations in signatures highlighted. The disadvantage of that is that the quotation regexp matches AA very often (e.g. when a line starts with / or |). That should be prevented IMO, without the need for a configurable option.
