<p>my limited understanding is that in those situations where it's
necessary to be more precise, we use these terms:</p>
<ul>
<li>(project) bin clip (...which MLT technically is a producer)</li>
<li>timeline clip (which is an instance in the timeline)<br>
</li>
</ul>
