What is Kdenlive?
Kdenlive is a non-linear video editor for Linux.
It can import and export to many formats, because of the MLT framework that runs it.
MLT uses FFMPEG to encode videos, as well.

Who wrote Kdenlive?
Jason Wood started the project in 2002. He is no longer an active developer.
Instead, the current project manager is yada.
