I use Samsung's standard app, "Messages", version 13.1.22.1 (the
latest). Do you recommend another messaging app?

My problem sometimes looks like the one described in 425638. SMS worked
correctly for some time and then started to fail. I use SMS messaging
infrequently, so I'm not able to say exactly when the problem started.
Sometimes my desktop computer is unable to access SMS messages; when I
start it, the progress wheel just turns and the popup "Loading
conversations..." appears.

I thought that logcat would be a function provided by android-tools; but
it looks like this isn't so. How do I get logcat? Is an introduction to
it available?
