<pre>Hi,
The other day I tried to burn and verify a data DVD using K3b. But,
when the process got to the "verify" part, it became obviously hosed;
that is, nothing was happening for a long, long time; so I killed the
process. I did get EIP errors (see attachment for a snippet). Trying
to mount/load he DVD also causes EIP errors.
I am able, however, to view/copy/open files on this seemingly faulty DVD
on my Windows XP box. The DVD-drive on my Linux box seems to be fine;
I was able to successfully mount and access data on a data DVD (created
on my Windows XP box) on my Linux box. Burning and verifying data CD-Rs
using K3b works as expected.
Could the burning issue be caused by incompatible/inadequate versions of
underlying software such as growisofs (v6.1)?
Essentially, I am running Slackware 11.0, kernel v2.6.20.11,
dvd+rw-tools v7.0, KDE 3.5.4, and K3b v1.0.1. If you need more info,
just let me know.
Ciao,
DPD.
