This never seems to give me problems, mind I use:<BR>

$eject -t<BR>

<BR>

to close the cd tray afterwards.<BR>

Hope this gets the correct reactions from those that do know so<BR>

that I get to get it right in future.<BR>

You also must make sure, that no instance using the CD-ROM stays 

preloaded in the background. That's why I always disable preloading of 

konqueror instances. It causes more problems than advantages.
