KDE 3.5.2: Konqueror configuration

I am running Mandriva 2006.

Yes I did. I set :  QTDIR, KDEDIR, KDEDIRS, LD_LIBRARY_PATH and PATH as per 
konstruct README file. I am starting KDE 3.5.2 with startx from the shell.

kcontrol seems OK but I get the same behavior with kpanel: when I right-click 
in kpanel and select the configure Panel... menu entry, an empty page 
pops-up. So, the problem is not only related to konqueror.
