Did a bit of exploring.  Right clicked the floppy icon.  Saw option to edit.  
Clicked that option.  

The URL for the "quick access entry" was "floppy:/mnt/floppy"  That format was 
inconsistent with the format I found for the CDROM quick access entry.  
Changed the floppy entry to "read /mnt/floppy", and all is well.

I have no idea how I changed it to begin with.

I don't know if you use the command line, but try the `mount -a` command.
This will attempt to mount all available drives and partitions, and return
the results to your terminal.

If your not a command line user try using kwikdisk or some such GUI utilitiy
