There have been various reports of problems with Fedora.

I have found a possible explanation.  Some of the Fedora packages which I 
just installed require GLibc-2.3.3.  There is one slight problem, that 
version of GLibc has not been released yet.  So, unless you have the Fedora 
GLibc packages installed those are not going to work.
