Logging in remotely (using KDM)

Maybe somebody can explain to me how to go about making remote logins
using KDM possible?
Already tried the SSH route and that works. I also tried VNC and didn't
really get that to work besides the fact that I don't really like the
fact that it doesn't use a logon screen but that you have to hard-code
specific users to specific displays.
So what I would like to do is use a Windows machine with Cygwin X server
and such installed to log onto my RedHat 8 + KDE 3.1 sytem just as I
would if I would be sitting behind its keyboard.

So can somebody explain how to do this or point me in the right
direction? (I understand at least that I will need to use XDMCP?)

Thanks,
 -Tako
