<p>Two main reasons:</p>

<ol class="remarkup-list">
<li class="remarkup-list-item">I forgot to update the own versions "very very very" often.</li>
<li class="remarkup-list-item">It was highly confusing as people talk about version x in most cases without large differentiation about KDE applications, application, frameworks, ... Less numbers, less confusion ;=)</li>
</ol>
