<div dir="ltr">Hii Valorie and everyone,<div>Here is some information about me and my journey with KDE,</div><div><br></div><div>My name is Akshay Kumar, I am a fourth year undergrad from University Institute of Engineering and Technology, Panjab University. I am a contributor at KDE's Gcompris.</div><div>From the time I started coding I always loved coding out simple games, because they were something that I could easily showcase in front of my friends and relatives even if they were from non coding backgrounds. But the fact that no one might be actually using them after that, always kept me from creating full fledged projects. Gcompris gave me that platform, Gcompris consists of numerous such games and activities which are really used to educate children around the world. Apart from that the friendly and helpful community was just cherry on the cake for me.</div><div>I started contributing to Gcompris from September 2018. As for my GSoC, my project was about adding Multiple Datasets to Activities, through which children belonging to different age groups can choose dataset(difficulty) as per there level or wish.</div><div>Ever since I started contributing to KDE, I learnt a lot, but more importantly I really loved what was doing, and I would like to thank the community for that. Now my target is to help new contributors in starting there journey with this amazing organisation :)</div><div><br></div><div>Status Report: <a href="https://community.kde.org/GSoC/2019/StatusReports/AkshayKumar">https://community.kde.org/GSoC/2019/StatusReports/AkshayKumar</a></div><div><br></div><div>Please let me know if there are any corrections or improvements needed.</div><div><br></div><div>Thanks and Regards</div><div>Akshay Kumar</div></div><br><div class="gmail_quote"><div dir="ltr" class="gmail_attr">On Fri, Sep 13, 2019 at 2:23 AM Valorie Zimmerman <<a href="mailto:valorie.zimmerman@gmail.com">valorie.zimmerman@gmail.com</a>> wrote:<br></div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0px 0px 0px 0.8ex;border-left:1px solid rgb(204,204,204);padding-left:1ex"><div dir="ltr">Perfect, Akhil!<div><br></div><div>I'm looking forward to 21 more like this, although shorter is OK!</div><div><br></div><div>Thank you,</div><div><br></div><div>Valorie</div></div><br><div class="gmail_quote"><div dir="ltr" class="gmail_attr">On Thu, Sep 12, 2019 at 10:29 PM Akhil <<a href="mailto:akhilam512@gmail.com" target="_blank">akhilam512@gmail.com</a>> wrote:<br></div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0px 0px 0px 0.8ex;border-left:1px solid rgb(204,204,204);padding-left:1ex"><div dir="ltr"><div>Hi Valorie and others! <br></div><div><br></div><div>Here's my part. I'm pursuing my undergrad in Computer Science at Amrita University, Amritapuri, India. I was introduced to the world of open source and KDE from amFOSS, which is a computer science FOSS club in my college. I absolutely loved using Kubuntu which was the reason I decided to contribute to KDE and my first patch went to Kdenlive, the non-linear open-source professional video editor, right around the beginning of this year. The folks from Kdenlive were very warm and helpful especially with the whole learning curve (which definitely was steep) and the experience so far has been g-r-e-a-t! I also had the opportunity to speak about my GSoC project at Akademy this year (worth another blog post ;) ) <br></div><div><br></div><div>About my work, I'm currently working on rewriting one of the features in the editor which creates title clips, called the Titler Tool. I proposed working on the backend (creating a rendering library for QML title clips, creating a new MLT producer, integration) for GSoC and I was able to cover most of it. My plan (read dream) is to see the titler tool come to life in the future releases hopefully, I seek to continue working with the Kdenlive team to make it happen and continue making Kdenlive a great tool to use and a great community to be a part of :)</div><div><br></div><div>Links to my work:</div><div>Status Report - <a href="https://community.kde.org/GSoC/2019/StatusReports/AkhilKGangadharan" target="_blank">https://community.kde.org/GSoC/2019/StatusReports/AkhilKGangadharan</a></div><div>QmlRenderer Library - <a href="https://cgit.kde.org/scratch/akhilkgangadharan/QmlRenderer.git/" target="_blank">https://cgit.kde.org/scratch/akhilkgangadharan/QmlRenderer.git/</a></div></blockquote><div><br></div><div><div><br></div></div><div><br></div><div><div><div dir="ltr"><div dir="ltr"><div><div dir="ltr"><div><div dir="ltr"><div><div dir="ltr"><div><div dir="ltr"><div><div dir="ltr"><div><div>Warmest regards, <br></div>Akhil K Gangadharan<i><br></i></div><div><i><a href="https://amfoss.in/" target="_blank">amFOSS</a><br></i></div><a href="https://github.com/akhilam512" target="_blank">GitHub</a> | <a href="http://akhilam512.github.io/blog/" target="_blank">Blog</a> <br></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div>
