CVS problems

Starting today, I get this error:

[root at localhost kde-3.2]# cvs login
Logging in to :pserver:anonymous at bluemchen.kde.org:2401/home/kde
CVS password:
cvs [login aborted]: unrecognized auth response from bluemchen.kde.org: cvs 
pserver: /home/kde/CVSROOT/config: unrecognized keyword 'UseNewInfoFmtStrings'

I had no problems updating Theora with CVS so my system must be OK.  I have 
version 1.12.7 built from source.

Any suggestions.  Do I need to configure something?

Or, did someone screwup when they upgraded on the server.
