kmix - Master volume is an INPUT device ?

Hi!
I have a question regarding new kmix:
It's fine that the sliders are now grouped into "input" and "output" tabs.
However, it seems illogical to me, that the Master Volume slider is located
in the "input" tab instead of the "output" one, because it's the one used to
control the overall volume of the soundcard output and it's logically on the
whole end of the mixing chain (at least IMHO, please correct me if I'm wrong).
The same applies for the IGain slider, which is placed in the "output" tab,
although explicitly being called INPUT Gain...
I have two soundcards installed, so two mixers, one is ICEnsemble 1232 from
an onboard soundcard and the other is Tritech 28602 from SB EMU10K, and both
exhibit this behaviour.
I'm not filing it as a bug because I'm not sure it IS a bug, maybe I'm
wrong...
Is there anybody to give some explanation of this ?
                                                  With regards, Pavel Troller
