No, actually it's a SYNTH stereo effect in kdemm/arts that causes this 
problem.  It crashes on load.  I sent a BT to kdemm not too long ago.  But ya 
know, you could assume that if the maintainer of arts doesn't reply to you 
when you report this, arts is abandoned.
