Up to now i've used the macports version available by <a href="http://theiggy.com">theiggy.com</a>. However it seems that they are no longer updated. Now it seems that again the suggested solution is now to use the image files produced by Big O. Is there a long term schedule concerning the distribution of those packages?</div> <div><br></div><div><br></div></div></blockquote><br></div><div>I fear currently I can't recommend any. There are three options open:</div><div><br></div><div>1) The mpkg version on <a href="http://mac.kde.org/">http://mac.kde.org/</a> - super old, buggy but installation is simple - once you read all the tech-notes with all the workaround for all the bugs.</div><div><br></div><div>2) The MacPorts version on <a href="http://theiggy.com">theiggy.com</a>. Good start but somehow stalled. And incompatible with the kde3 installation from MacPorts, The later being the reason why I never got round to fully test the version.</div><div><br></div><div>3) MacPorts is probably stalled because of the plans to create a cross platform release using CPack. While a cross platform packaging sounds great - there is not a single CPack release yet. I read up on the CPack documentation and I think they are not as far as MacPorts. As such CPack might turn out to be still born.</div><div><br></div><div>Personally I like MacPorts most, it got a very active community and with it's ability to produce debian and red hat packages sufficiently cross platform. CPacks only advantage is the NSIS (MS-Windows) support.</div><div><br></div><div>But as it is, and as I said in the beginning: I can't recommend any.</div><div><br></div><div>Regards</div><div><br></div><div>Martin</div><br><div apple-content-edited="true"> <span class="Apple-style-span" style="border-collapse: separate; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: 'DejaVu Serif'; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; letter-spacing: normal; line-height: normal; orphans: 2; text-align: auto; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: normal; widows: 2; word-spacing: 0px; -webkit-border-horizontal-spacing: 0px; -webkit-border-vertical-spacing: 0px; -webkit-text-decorations-in-effect: none; -webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0; "><div style="word-wrap: break-word; -webkit-nbsp-mode: space; -webkit-line-break: after-white-space; "><span class="Apple-style-span" style="border-collapse: separate; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: 'DejaVu Serif'; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; letter-spacing: normal; line-height: normal; orphans: 2; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: normal; widows: 2; word-spacing: 0px; -webkit-border-horizontal-spacing: 0px; -webkit-border-vertical-spacing: 0px; -webkit-text-decorations-in-effect: none; -webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; "><div style="word-wrap: break-word; -webkit-nbsp-mode: space; -webkit-line-break: after-white-space; "><div>-- </div><div>Martin Krischik</div><div><a href="mailto:krischik@users.sourceforge.net">krischik@users.sourceforge.net</a></div></div></span></div></span> </div><br></body></html>
