Ok it may be something else with logging then.  I think it certainly bears
further investigation, but this is a very important clue.  When I investigated
this before, it was failing on registering properties as they came in.  I
almost certainly had logging turned on then since I was trying to get all the
info I could.  But what registering the properties coming in from the
indiserver has to do with logging, I am not sure right now, but maybe it is
connected somehow.
