got to find a balance point there somewhere.

<pre wrap="">My boss found his balance point: he runs his twin 17"
1280x1024-native-rez LCDs at 800x600 ...

<pre wrap="">Yeah, I know the feeling. I normally wear contacts. When I have an eye
irritation or something and switch to glasses, I have to either sit much
closer or change font size or resolution, as I simply can't see as well.
But the eye doctor said I was 20/20 with my glasses and the contacts are
*MUCH* better, so I think I must have better-than-20/20, likely 20/15 or
better, with contacts. Don't even /think/ about uncorrected, tho! I'd
have to sit about 10 cm (4 inches) from the screen! The high correction
(worse than -11 diopters) is also why lasik's not an option.

<pre wrap="">LOL I'm at 640 x 350. I can read it pretty good tho.

I used to do graphic work on a 15" monitor running at 1600x1200 - IBM
used to make some great pro monitors ...

I'm waiting for KDE 4.5, then will probably have to go back to 3.5
anyway. I don't have anything close to contemporary video hardware
around here, and I doubt that 4.5's flashy fancy eye candy will be very
workable on any of the machines here ...

I have been thinking about buying the fastest card I can afford for
this old rig. It will have to be plain AGP tho. I don't have the
newer PCI express stuff here. I figure they will be cheap enough. I
have a FX-5200 with 128Mbs of ram right now.<br>
