Hi,
I use Kopete to do my Yahoo instant messaging. For some time
now when I close Kopete or log out of KDE, the password gets
messed up and I have to reenter the password. I notice that
it adds extra characters to the password. It is the little
bullet things but there is more of them than is in my
password.
Is there a fix for this? Is this a bug? A wrong setting on
my system maybe?

every password edit control worth a toot re-shows the same
number of "little bullet things" for every password, so
prying eyes can't learn *anything* about your password, not
even its length

Hmmm, perhaps the OP is saying that the password that Kopete 3.5.8 is
remembering and putting in the password field doesn't WORK when he or
she tries to connect?

That is correct. Example. I open Kopete and have saved the password
previously. I try to go online with Yahoo IM. I get a error that the
password is not correct. Then I have to redo the password entry.
After I reenter the password, if I close Kopete or logout of KDE, which
closes Kopete, then it looses the password again. Basically, it saves
something in the password field but it is not really my password.
Bug or what?
