Thanks to all who replied -- Erik, Merton and Norberto. I tried
changing the hsync and vsync, but that alone did not work. I did not
know which mode I wanted to use, having not had a chance to try more
than one and not knowing how to change them yet, so I tried removing
the file Norberto suggested (it was just a blank file, but I did back
it up first) and that worked. I dont' know why, but thanks!
I appreciate all the efforts to assist. Thank you. I am happy to be
back in KDE once again.
