<DIV>I went from FC3 to FC4. I started from scratch. In FC3 I found the MySql was still at version 3 when every other distro was at version 4. I had to play with Apache and PHP to get them started. After that FC3 was solid. Oh yeah I did have to fool with sound cards to get a CD to play.</DIV>

<DIV>Thanks for the info on NTFS.</DIV>

<DIV>I guess my biggest complaint about FC4 is the "Kernel Panic". Okay the distro is free so why complain if you have to tweak it? Well "Kernel Panic" makes a newbie think he created the CDs wrong and discourages Linux use. Kernel panic should have been seen by the testers. My other complaints are pretty much common to all versions of FC. FC is a kit you build not a finished product so you expect so bumps in the road. </DIV>

<DIV>If you have so extra $ try Novell's SUSE. It loaded on first shot. It's not cheap. Retail $90 for the desktop but I think you can get a free trial. What's the downside? The $90 version is a desktop so you have to download PHP, Perl, MySql, Apache, Ruby whatever.</DIV>

<DIV>Thanks for responding.</DIV>
