Thanks for the tip. It certainly seems like the problem is the screen edges, 
but they are all set to "none".
But the resize do depend on where the cursor ends up. If it is "too close" to 
the edge there is a resize done :-(

BTW. This is KDE 4.4.2 (Mandriva)
