[kde-linux] mapping keys to different letters

If you want to write in French or German in KDE, you can add those keyboards
to the Active Layouts in System Settings > Regional & Language > Keyboard
Layout.

However, this means you have to learn new keyboard mappings for some ordinary
letters, which completely trashes my 80-words-a-minute. I would prefer just
to map, say, the e with the acute accent and the u with the umlaut to some key
combinations of my own choosing.

How do you do this in KDE?

Thanks & Best Regards,
