Nice points.. I too went through this feeling at some point in time.
this was the reason for me to say 'utthapisu' would be a good
alternative all the while :-).. however, slowly, I have began to feel
that 'tumbu' would not be a very bad alternative.. beacuse IMO you always
fill something when you load (mainly memory or registers or templates
etc)..<br>
however, I feel just sthaapisu can be much more misleading, since one
can easily confuse it with 'install'. Now, we are using 'anusthaapisu'

A common man with some experience of using computers (in English) will laugh when he sees the word "thumbuththidhe" if he is not a very intellectual person. And, the word "sThaapisu" has got some *dignity* as we don't use it quite often in aadubhaashe. so, nobody can dare to make fun of that word. :)

load as ತುಂಬು and loading etc with modifications of ತುಂಬಿಸು. ಉತ್ಥಾಪನೆ
may be difficult to grasp. Besides, here is a small justification - the
possible forms load can take are-
