Namaskara Umesh,<br><br>About the translation for the word "Load" and its variants.<br><br>I don't personally like the word "thumbu" ;)<br><br>I don't know about paTyabhAshe but in aadubhAshe "thumbu" seems to be very funny. I feel, we always use "thumbu" to refer to the process of "filling of a fluid into some container". So, if the system is loading (KDE loading etc.) and we use the word "tumbalaagththidhe", following questions appear to my mind (besides looking funny)

<br><br>sThaapisu, sThaapaka, sThaapisalaaguththidhe, sThaapisalaayithu, sThaapisuvudhu, munna-sThaapisu, sajju-sThaapaka<br><br>And, reload = marusThaapisu also holds good.<br><br>Coming to precision, I feel, even "thumbu" is not very precise translation for the word "load" as "thumbu" = "fill".
<br><br>I strongly feel, we shouldn't give anybody a chance to make fun of our translations. A common man with some experience of using computers (in English) will laugh when he sees the word "thumbuththidhe" if he is not a very intellectual person. And, the word "sThaapisu" has got some *dignity* as we don't use it quite often in aadubhaashe. so, nobody can dare to make fun of that word. :)

have a feeling that we can without much trouble translate the string
load as ತುಂಬು and loading etc with modifications of ತುಂಬಿಸು. ಉತ್ಥಾಪನೆ
may be difficult to grasp. Besides, here is a small justification - the
possible forms load can take are-
