<div>Guys, </div>
<div> </div>
<div>most Indian language keyboards are very complex, and ktouch (part of kdeedu package) can be very valuable in learning to type in Indian langauges. </div>
<div> </div>
<div>I tried developing keyboard files for the devanagri inscript and phonetic keyboards, but I came across a problem. </div>
<div> </div>
<div>ktouch is designed for latin/greek/cyrillic derived alphabets. It ASSUMES a concept of uppercase and lowercase alphabets, which is not really applicable to the asian languages (which actually need an app like ktouch even more!)
</div>
<div> </div>
<div>I raised the following "wishlist" for the same. </div>
<div> </div>
<div><a href="http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=118656">http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=118656</a></div>
<div> </div>
<div>Now, I havent managed to get a proper kde build environment on my PC, and am very rusty on c++ (not having used it for a while now), Maybe one of you could give this a shot? </div>
<div> </div>
<div>This change would enable ktouch to be useful for teaching Indian language typing for new users. (and I can quickly generate some keyboard files etc)</div>
<div> </div>
<div>Else, if you dont fancy doing c++/qt programming yourself, you can always contribute to KDE by providing suggestions, (for example, for this "bug") etc. </div>
<div> </div>
<div>Let me know if you need more details for this particular "bug". (I can send the keyboard files and lessions I had created for Hindi typing)</div>
<div> </div>
<div>Thanks, </div>
<div>Vivek</div>
