<DIV

Dan,

Yes, in a way it is. The version you are using is packaged by the
KDE Windows team. The issue is that a software 'release' for a given version of
digiKam and kipi plugins by the developers is a compressed archive of all the
source necessary to compile both sets of software (either together or separate),
with the exception of Windows which I'll get to in a moment. So, for all
operating systems you would need to either compile digiKam/kipi yourself, or
download a compilation someone else has done for your system (be it linux, mac
os, windows, etc). In the case of Windows, there are currently two ways to get
digiKam. There is a version released by the digiKam team when possible that
comprises of everything necessary to run digiKam/kipi in one installer available
here:

http://sourceforge.net/projects/digikam/files/digikam/

There
is also the release packaged by the KDE Windows team which you downloaded. The
version released by KDE Windows is actually older, and may be incompatible with
gwenview. I'm not sure about this, you would have to contact the KDE Windows
team to find out.

I'm not sure how to uninstall individual applications
using the KDE Windows installer, but I believe if you run the installer again
there is an option to remove all installed packages. The digiKam package that we
release to sourceforge has it's own uninstaller accessible from the standard
program management area on Windows 7, the 'Programs and Features' Control Panel.
You might also check if KDE Windows now places an uninstaller
there.

Unfortunately this inconsistency is common with open source
projects like this, especially those that participate in a larger open source
project.

Best,

-Ananta
