Hello Albert,

Thank you for getting back to me. I appreciate your time.

The main reason for proposing an Argentine Spanish (es_AR) translation is to provide a more localized and natural experience for users in Argentina. While the standard Spanish translation has served well for decades, there are significant regional differences in vocabulary, expressions, and even grammatical structures that can make software feel less intuitive to native speakers.

My plan for this translation is:

Maintain consistency with KDE's guidelines while adapting terms to fit everyday Argentine usage.

Use an informal tone, which aligns with how most users in Argentina interact with technology.

Ensure clarity and usability by avoiding overly neutral or ambiguous terms that may not feel natural to local users.

This is not meant to replace the existing Spanish translation but rather to offer an alternative for those who prefer a more localized experience, similar to how KDE supports different English variants.

Let me know if you’d like more details! I’d love to discuss this further.

Best regards,
Can you briefly explain what is your plan for this translation?

We have lived for 30 years without the need of forking the Spanish translation
so I am interested in knowing why it is needed now.
