Right, I thought I'd get an answer directly on my e-mail and didn't
think about the online list archives (I'm not subscribed to the list
because it is too much traffic for my mailbox) so that I didn't see all
the discussion going on :-( Thanks for forwarding the link to the
thread !<br>
I'm aware of release issues, and will just follow the guidelines. All I
can say is that I'm really sad if it can't go in for 4.0 since this
theme really fits with winter/Christmas time ! If I understand the
problem right, the blocking issue is string translations, which in this
case amounts to exactly *one* string: "Christmas". So my suggestions
(in decreasing order of preference) would be:<br>
1) commit it after translating the string to the most common languages
(list of locales taken e.g. from translations available for other
themes). Considering the word I need to translate, it should be easy to
find the appropriate translations !<br>
2) add it to GetHotNewStuff, though I'm not sure ktuberling supports it
(can't test right now, I've messed up my KDE4 install !)<br>
3) put it on kde-look.org<br>
<br>
Waiting for your feedback,<br>

<pre wrap="">Hi,
I was playing with KDE4 svn recently to check the progress made, and was
quite impressed by the new ktuberling. So I looked under the hood a bit and
realized it was very easy to create new themes. Being in December now, I've
sat down with my 10-year old son and prepared a nice Christmas theme :-)
I've read that KDE4 is no longer going to be released in December :-(, but
early January will still be Christmas spirit enough I guess...
The theme is being tested locally by my 4 children, and seems to work fine
(even though some effects are not supported by ktuberling or QtSvg, which
slightly degrades the appearance as compared with inkscape). I think it
could be a worthwhile addition to the set of existing themes, but before
committing it I'd like to know whether that's OK. I have a KDE svn account
("brisset", used mainly for kst up to now), so there are no technical
problems. Licenses should be OK as well, as we borrowed mostly from
openclipart.org public domain material, vectorized some drawings which were
then heavily "touched up" in inkscape and drew the rest ourselves.
Thanks for letting me know whether I can commit this. Attached is the svg
for you to have a look.
And thanks again for all the work that has gone into kdegames for KDE4. It
is truly impressive !

Hi, i'm not sure if you are on kde-games-devel list or not, but we basically
decided it should wait until 4.1, really a pain but that's the "right way".
Maybe you could put it on kde-look.org temporally though.
