    <p>Hello!</p>

    <p>This week I decided to try KDE5 on a new machine, and,

      unfortunately can not bring it up... The plasmashell and

      ksplashqml both crash at startup -- I get the X11-screen, but it

      is empty save for mouse cursor. The crash is in the same place for

      both, in a little plugin installed by qt5-gui.<br>

    </p>

    <p>First I thought, something is miscompiled, but even when qt5-gui

      is rebuilt without march and WITH_DEBUG=yes, I still get the same

      crash -- although the backtrace (attached) has more information.</p>

    <p>My machine runs FreeBSD-11.x/amd64 of very recent vintage.</p>
