[kde-freebsd] KDE -- KDM: Crashes the entire machine

KDE 3.5.8 -- USING KDM -- Installed with pkg_add -r

The focus is on logging out of KDE.  Users are presented with KDM.  The admin has KDM configured to not allow anyone but 'root' to restart or shutdown the machine.  This is failing miserably. With KDM set to only allow 'root' to shutdown or restart the machine, should a non 'wheel' user click on the restart or shutdown menu items, KDE\KDM freezes, displaying giberish on the screen -- more importantly, you never regain control of the computer and ultimately this KDE\KDM issue takes the entire box down (reboot).  I can reproduce this in a heart-beat.

I think you'll agree this is definetly a serious issues if for no other reason, a non-wheel user has no business being ab
le to restart and/or shutdown a multi-user system/machine without regard for the other logged-in user(s).  There is nothinf exotic about this installation.  Its a 'dangerously dedicated FreeBSD' clean install.

Where do we go from here?
