<p>Might be difficult, because in order to fully display most filenames, you'd need to make the icon size large enough, but then you'd only be able to display relatively few items. The file dialog is different to Dolphin in the sense that the space the viewport can occupy is quite small, so a different view mode is not too bad. I'm curious though if you have a magic patch in mind which creates space out of nothing ;)</p>
