<li class="remarkup-list-item">Check the "Show Word Count" option and apply changes.</li>
<li class="remarkup-list-item">Word counter in the status bar is shown across all documents.</li>
<li class="remarkup-list-item">Open another new document and observe the word counter.</li>
<li class="remarkup-list-item">Close Kate and open it once again.</li>
<li class="remarkup-list-item">The word counter is still there.</li>
