Hello,
OK. So, I'll refrain from
adding these new strings. In fact, if Ihad to add them, it's because
kgraphviewer is in final debug mode: I noted that some actions were missing
whatsthis information. So it'll be for 4.1. It is not a really great problem,
as I think the actions are easily understandable by themselves.
Bye.

Subject: [Kde-extra-gear] digiKam 0.9.3-rc1 relased
Message-ID: <200712082150.14463.gerhard@kulzer.net>
Hi everybody.
The digiKam team has published the 0.9.3-rc1 release. Downloads as usual from
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=42641 and
http://digikam3rdparty.free.fr/0.9 releases/
There is again a new very practical feature integrated:
In the Albums/Tags/Searches/TagsFilter sidebars the is a live filter at the
bottom that lets you search for a string in Albums/Tags/Searches/TagsFilter
hierarchy, much as amarok does it int he collections.
A word on stability. I know that many of you wait until a 'stable' sees the
day of light in order to upgrade digiKam. I will not tell you to do
otherwise. But! I update digikam daily per cron job from svn since 4 years
now. I have never lost a single image, nor have I lost the database or
metadata. And I have 35K images in the album. Bugs are generally functions
that don't work, but they are not destructive. Now do what you want :-)
And of course several bug fixes:
digiKam BUGFIXES FROM KDE BUGZILLA (alias B.K.O | http://bugs.kde.org):
052 ==> 152522 : Support for *.3gp and *.mp4 video files in digiKam (already
supported by KDE video players).
053 ==> 128231 : A way to view pictures recursively in albums and sub-albums
at the same time would be cool.
054 ==> 133191 : Quick search/filter for albums like in amarok.
055 ==> 146364 : Incremental search for tags in all tag fields.
056 ==> 152843 : Live filter does not work if no text is displayed under
thumbnails.
057 ==> 148629 : "Adjust Exif orientation tag" does not continue after error.
058 ==> 144165 : Numeric values in Histogram -> Statistics frame should be
right-aligned.
059 ==> 148037 : Tiff images are not displayed with correct colours.
060 ==> 152961 : Cannot remove album from tree.
061 ==> 121314 : More options to display the album tree.
062 ==> 141085 : Some strings are untranslated in digiKam.
063 ==> 151403 : Crashed trying to save a image downloaded from the camera.
Be happy, run digiKam

Hello,
Seeing that KTorrent 3.0 for KDE4 is nearing completion, I want to release a
first beta version. For KDE3 I have a script named createPackage.sh which a
couple of people wrote a few years back, found it somewhere in the kde SVN
repository. I have been using that to generate all my packages for KDE3. My
question now is, has somebody modified this to generate KDE4 packages ?
Obviously I can modify this myself, but if somebody has already done this,
it would be duplicate work.
Joris,

Second ;-)
For the second release candidate there have been made extragear packages, as discussed earlier.
They are available at ftp://ftp.kde.org/pub/kde/unstable/3.97/src/extragear
Best.

In the KDE 3 times I used to use svn2dist from kdesdk/scripts,
which was also pretty capable at fetching i18n and producing
a nice tarball from a KDE SVN module subdir - would indeed be
nice to see that updated for 4. Guess we have to get together
on that ...

It is not just a straight port, but we also added a whole bunch of new
features :

- The network interface to use, can now be selected
- Alternative flat list mode to display the files of a torrent
- Reorganization of the config dialog
- Individual files of a torrent can now be moved

Message-ID: <200712231113.50291.gerhard@kulzer.net>
digiKam 0.9.3 has been released.
Dear all digiKam users,
the team is really proud to deliver just in time for Xmas the final 0.9.3 version.
The tarball can downloaded from SourceForge at http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=42641
Many, many thanks go to Gilles, Marcel, Arnd, Mik, Fabien and all the others who worked hard to create this great new release. This release sends a big parcel of useability improvements under your Xmas tree: If it was not already, organizing and navigation have become a snap now with the quick filters, drag&drop and GOTO features on top of an optimized lightable.
NEW FEATURES (since 0.9.2):
AlbumGUI
Drag&Drop : D&D from anywhere into album tree. When the albumview is flattened (x Include Album Sub-tree) images can be d&ded across horizontal separations. That one satisfies wish #142774.
GOTO : A new quick navigation feature has been added: it is now possible (by RMB context menu) to GOTO any other view with pertinent context, e.g. from date view right-click on an image and GOTO the Album or Tag view that this image is associated with. Try any other combination. That covers wish #128231.
Quick filters :
Add new Filter Bar on bottom of Albums/Tags/Searches/TagsFilter view filter contents based on strings (file names, comments, and tags).
Add Rating filter widget on status bar.
Add MimeType filter widget on status bar.
Add tool to navigate from album, tag and date view to any other view.
ImageEditor
B&W : New black & white Green color tone filter.
LightTable : Several usability improvements.
CameraGUI :
streamlining: New options to download images and delete it from camera at the same time.
Drag&Drop : Support of Drag & Drop to download files from camera GUI to album GUI.
space indicator : Add new bargraph to indicate statistics about free space available on Album library path.
General :
Updated internal CImg library to last stable 1.2.4 (released at 2007/09/26).
Updated internal CImg library to last stable 1.2.3 (released at 2007/08/24).
Color scheme theme are now XML based (instead X11 format).
Camera interface is used to import new images into collections.
Merry Xmas
Gerhard

Message-ID: <26067612.mEH4ez84RC@kde.nl>
Hi,
I just checked[2] in a script which you all can use to create tarballs of your extragear applications. It is based on a ruby script of markey, which was based on cvs2dist once. Long history ;-)
Anyway, make sure your application is listed in config.ini and run the create_tarball.rb script. It will ask you the version number (by default the version number of the latest kde-tag) and give the application you want a tarball (or multiple or 'all')
It will fetch the source, documentation, po translations and desktop files and puts them in a tarball for you.
As I use the script to provide tarballs each release of kde[1], I will make sure the script will be ok, but contribute to it please.
Known bugs:
- translations of the docbooks are not yet completed, will be when someone needs it

Looks good.
One problem: you hardcoded your svn account into the script.
Also, your call to /bin/rm has argument issues.

Hardcode svn+ssh://svn.kde.org/home/kde since, of the three, it's the
fastest method. And since the username is handled by ssh anyways, there's
no problem with the username.

Message-ID: <200712281428.50906.kleag@free.fr>
Hello,
I just realized that kgraphviewer misses its Help menu. I think it was
automaticaly added in KDE3. wasn't it ? Is there a way to readd it to the
kde4 version without breaking the strings freeze ?

Kleag

You are explicitely asking that your menubar should not be merged with the
general options.
Remove noMerge="1" from kgraphviewer.cpp to get it back.
BTW, you have
connect(file_exportMenu,SIGNAL(activated(int)),this,SLOT(fileExportActivated(int)));
and fileExportActivated does not exist.

Right, but since svn+ssh is faster than https, people should prefer ssh

Here is my little contribution, i haven't tested it too much, only that parameters are
correct. I put username mandatory for https.
Let me know if i can commit or if ok you can do it for me.

Great work! I'm impressed. Can you add an option to use anonsvn anyhow. If you don't have an account at all it should also be possible to use it, which currently does not work.
Feel free to commit.

Hello,
There is a problem when you enter a non-defaul version number: the new version
number includes the entered newline. The following patch solves the problem.
Can I commit ?

Thanks. But I think that the noMerge entry has nothing to do with the menus
(BTW, I cannot find a reference documentation of the xmlui file format). It
is related to the toolbars. And when I remove them, I see no changes at all.

Can you test with the new one I've just commit? It uses -v version now,

You can not find it because there is none.

Well, you have to remove the noMerge of the menubar, not the one of the
toolbars.

I'm sorry. I probably suffer from some kind of cognitive blindness... I
previously searched for the "noMerge" string and only found it in the ToolBar
tags... It's now corrected. Thanks again.

Message-ID: <200712292000.29774.anaselli@linux.it>
We've finally found the time to release new kipi-plugins 0.1.5 rc1.
You can download them on SF:
https://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=149779&package_id=165761
or from our site http://www.kipi-plugins.org (as soon as it is updated).
Changes:
NEW FEATURES:
General : Added the availability to disable plugins we don't want to build.
: This feature is very useful for source based distros (Matej Laitl)
PrintWizard : Added raw file management, now raw files can be printed.
SlideShow : Solved minor issue in filename printing (2D slideshow).
SlideShow : New caching mechanism
SlideShow : Added Ken Burns effect
Calendar : Fixed recurring events not showing (only first date was showed)
: Setting special events only once (before printing), instead of
: one for every page
BUG FIXED from B.K.O (http://bugs.kde.org):
001 ==> 149666 : General : iPod Export kipi plugin cannot be disabled at compile
time when libgpod is present on system.
002 ==> 151604 : PrintWizard : Print Wizard does not recognize raw images.
003 ==> 102021 : SlideShow : Pan and Zoom on Slideshow viewing (not a transition)
a la iPhoto.
004 ==> 151578 : BatchProcess : Popup window says "Cannot run properly 'convert' program
from 'ImageMagick' package" but it seems fine.
005 ==> 152210 : BatchProcess : Metadata lost when converting from png to jpeg (IPTC
thumbnail too big).
006 ==> 152215 : GPSSync : GPS correlator starts too many kio_thumbnail processes.
007 ==> 149491 : GPSSync : GPS correlator GPSSYNC do_not admit GMT+5h30 (India).
008 ==> 150114 : GPSSync : Max time gap is limited to 999 or 2000 seconds.
009 ==> 154244 : ImageViewer : SHIFT triggers help dialog.
