What I interpret from a private e-mail from Aleix is that the proposal
does not explain in detail how will the plots be implemented in
KAlgebra. I think that is a valid claim, and you are left with a
couple of options:

1. Look further into how are plots implemented in KAlgebra and improve
your proposal, which will make your project at least twice as hard as
it is right now
2. Drop the plots from the whole proposal, which simplifies your
project a bit (the plot part was never a central part of the project
in my opinion)
3. Make your plotting-related goal to generate a proposal for adding
Geogebra support in KAlgebra, which is a clever compromise: you commit
yourself to doing the research needed to do the part you will not be
able to do, and your deliverable would be an actual project idea,
properly detailed and documented, that we can later re-use in another
mentoring program.

Aleix, do you agree with all (or anything) of the above?

Well, it's not that I don't want them to be implemented. That's for sure, what I meant is that it's too easy to talk about using another technology, but easy to get it wrong.

For starters, Geogebra will have their functions in a specific format and you'll want to translate it to KAlgebra's, at least. How?

Also I never understood why don't you want to use Analitza for plotting and then rendering in the scene within Kig instead of having two different views. Isn't the whole point to be able to have the plots interact with the rest of the elements in the scene?

Hi all,

Above is my GSoC proposal on adding support for Geogebra-worksheets in KIG. I made a point in the proposal that If there are algebraic plots in the Geogebra-worksheet then those plots will be opened in KAlgebra ( since KIG can't handle them but KAlgebra can ) .

Well, I wanted to ask if this this NOT a good Idea ? Should my project-goal include adding plotting features in KIG as well ?

Aleix Pol , Please offer some suggestions .

Thanks,
