Yuri, thanks for the quick response. After writing you, I realized this was a browser choice. In chromium>settings>downloads I have checked the box "ask where to save each file before downloading."<BR>

Hi,
Please use the "Paths" System Settings module (Alt+F2 + typing "paths") to
determine the default path for downloading.

Otherwise, please use "Save Link as..." context menu item to choose the
folder to save your data.
