    It took a week to get sound going after installation (ubuntu linux).

    <br>

    Now after a distribution upgrade all my DEVICES disappeared again. <br>

    <b>This page is TOTALLY useless when the OS can't find the devices

      and all it sees is dummy.</b><br>

    I need to know how to probe for the sound  rather than how to select

    which device gets used.<br>

    Intel I5 with inchip sound and video.<br>
