What Parker said. Hovering a tab already opens it after a certain
time-period. This helps with drops to sub-folders in the view also.

However, drag-and-drop on the tab without waiting for the switch does
not work - Perhaps it could be made to work with the drop action
(Ctrl, Ctrl+Shift changes that) without requiring a menu?

Pressing the Return key does the very same thing :)
