and thanks to info from Scott Kitterman, ~1% of the users that opt-in to the 
popcorn feedback facility for Kubuntu use kppp. he did point out accurately 
that there is a self-selection bias there, but 1% is fairly telling. though 
those 1% likely depend on it 100% for connectivity ;)

all useful #s to put into the decision making bag, imho.
