That's an idea. I wonder what is preferred: Clear (using 
KStandardAction) as in KDE 3.5, or Clear All (and this matches with 
Select All).

In case of clear, the action should probably not grouped with Select 
All, but be part of the Copy/Paste/Cut/Delete section. Putting there in 
the right place might be trickier, but I think I can do it.
